Hi, I’m AJ. Growing up, expressing my creativity through art or whatever hobby I felt was fun had been something I’ve always found a way to do. I saw my family’s creative side through my Grandma, a professional painter, and two brothers, who also love to draw. My Grandma’s abstract surrealism paintings greatly influenced how I felt I could express my creativity as a kid because her style said no limitations to invention from your consciousness while drawing. I’ve been drawing, doodling in school, painting and drawing on my walls, or creating stencils for clothes. I have found since a kid that through any form of illustrative art, I can escape or release my stress at the moment. Recently as an artist, I have been exploring media when expressing my creativity in forms like digital art on procreate, adobe illustrator, and editing videos for the action sports I do. I love the limitless amount of techniques and ways you manipulate the illustration you have created at the time. Throughout my college carrier, I have switched my major two times. Starting as an economics major, it only took me one semester to realize that I needed to change to an Art Practices major to follow my heart. Throughout this class, I hope to create a stronger foundation in the skills It takes to make my digital masterpieces I have at mind. Through this blog, I will be documenting my creative process from Digital Art 1 and the Artwork I create during this semester.
